Puerto Aventuras, Q.R. — Four people were rushed to Playa del Carmen hospital Wednesday morning after an accident outside Puerto Aventuras. The compact Chevy was carrying four Argentinians when their car was hit by a transport van.
The impact caused the small car’s two front seat occupants to become trapped. Playa del Carmen firemen were requested at the scene to help remove them.
The accident happened when the driver of the van attempted to cross the highway to gain access to a hotel. The driver of the van allowed a bus from the oncoming lane to pass but allegedly failed to see the oncoming car.
As the bus passed, the driver of the van turned onto the highway and was crashed into by the car. A woman from the car was reported taken to hospital in serious condition.
