Four charged in gruesome Cancun murder of two over alleged motorcycle theft

Cancun, Q.R. — Four people have been officially charged in the murder of two men who were beaten to death before being set on fire. A Cancun judge has agreed that three men and one woman face charges of aggravated homicide in the murder of the two men.

Jorge Alberto “N”, Antoni Iván “N”, Deni David “N” and Mónica Elizabeth “N” were taken into custody hours after the burning bodies of the men were found. They were found burning inside an old city hospital on July 7 after neighbors reported a fire inside the abandoned building.

Cancun firemen extinguished the fire at which time they saw the two deceased men. Police say they were beaten to death before being placed under a pile of garbage and set on fire.

In a statement Saturday regarding the charges, local authorities said “the events that led to their arrests and subsequent indictment occurred on the afternoon of July 7 of this year, when the two male victims were deprived of their liberty, likely beaten and then taken to the former General Hospital in Supermanzana 65 of Cancun.

“There, they allegedly beat and injured the two men with machetes until they were killed then placed garbage on top of them and set them on fire.
