Cancun, Q.R. — Reports of a garbage fire inside an old building turned out to be charred bodies. On Monday, Cancun police were called to an abandoned building in SM 65 from where neighbors reported the fire.
Inside the old building, authorities found two bodies had been set on fire. Emergency 9-1-1 sent police and city firemen in response to resident reports of garbage burning inside an old building once used as a hospital around 5:00 p.m.
Once the fire was out, authorities found two bodies. not garbage, were what had been burning. Police have since reported that both bodies found inside the old hospital are male. They have also reported that both had physical injuries from a violent event without detailing what those injuries were.
Authorities are working on identifying the bodies of the two men found inside the city’s old general hospital. Cancun Police say an investigation is underway.
