Four believed related to highly dangerous organized criminal group detained in Cancun

Cancun, Q.R. — An operation in Cancun has resulted in the arrests of four men believed related to a highly dangerous organized criminal group. The men were taken into police custody Sunday during an operation carried out by civilian and military police corporations in Cancun.

The four were arrested from the parking lot of the Plaza Outlet on avenida Andrés Quintana Roo in SM 39 after an investigation lead authorities there due to other criminal acts believed linked to the group.

Shortly after their arrests, Lucio Hernández Gutiérrez, head of the office of the Quintana Roo Public Security Secretariat, announced the arrests and reported that weapons had been secured.

According to preliminary information, an interrogation revealed a criminal safe house in SM 50 of Cancun. When police searched the house, they found the body of a deceased man. His identity has not been revealed.
