Cancun, Q.R. — A total of four charred bodies have been found in two vehicles off a Cancun dirt road. The initial report made was of two charred bodies found by passersby Monday in the El Pedregal neighborhood.
At the scene, police found two vehicles, a jeep and a Mercedes, both of which had been set on fire. It was believed one body was in each vehicle. However, after forensic testing, each vehicle was found to contain two bodies.
The finding was made Monday off Huayacán Avenue in Cancun. Police also collected spent shell casings from around the burned out vehicles. Since the bodies were reduced to skeletal remains, identification has been made difficult, however, at least two of the bodies have been confirmed male.
Police continue to work on positively identifying all four victims for family notification.
