Monterrey, Nuevo León — Accompanied by the Governor of Nuevo León, Samuel García, the Mayor, Luis Donaldo Colosio, and the CEO of the company in Latin America, Marcelo Wurman, Foreign Minister Marcelo Ebrard inaugurated the new Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) facilities in Monterrey .
TSC, an IT-focused company and part of India’s largest corporate, will create 2,500 new jobs in the state of Nuevo León and across Mexico.
Foreign Minister Ebrard said that the arrival of TSC and other Indian companies in Mexico is the result of a common vision of two countries that are going to be growing partners with better salaries, more jobs and more possibilities for aggregate growth.
During his inauguration speech, Ebrard highlighted the favorable conditions that Mexico offers for foreign investment among which is the export platform to the United States and other countries, its financial strength, the favor of the relocation of companies and its demographic bonus.
“We have everything in perspective – the CEO of TCS told me – so that Mexico has a growth of more than double what it has now, that is, the growth is between four and five on average, that is, spending a decade of growth at that rate,” Ebrard said.
He recalled that “soon in Mexico, in December we already have – thanks to an agreement with India as well, not with TCS but with another institution – we are going to develop immunotherapy in Mexico.”
During his speech, Governor Samuel García Sepúlveda thanked Foreign Minister Ebrard for his support and pointed out that “the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been fundamental in consolidating historical (investment) records in Nuevo León.”
Mayor Luis Donaldo Colosio Riojas highlighted the support of the federal government “with whom we hope to always continue working hand-in-hand to bring prosperity, growth and development to all the talents in the city and in the state of Nuevo León […] to be able to become the best business capital in the whole country”.
