Riviera Maya, Q.R. — The first convoy of the Maya Train will arrive on July 8 in Cancun to start testing reported Javier May. On Monday, May said it will be “in order to begin the period of static and dynamic tests of this mobility project in the southeast of the country.
“Later, upon the arrival of the train, there will be a period of static tests. As of August, the dynamic tests will begin, that is, the bearing on the track of the first train,” announced the General Director of the National Fund for Tourism Promotion, Javier May Rodriguez.
Maite Ramos Gómez, the director of Alstom Mexico company building that section explained that the vehicle will run 15,000 kilometers as part of the operational tests and that evaluations will be carried out in the water, electricity and door services through a real-time diagnostic technology system called HealthHub.
“It allows us to make progress in two things, in preventive maintenance and, above all, optimization so that the train is increasingly efficient so we don’t have any problems and it stays in the best condition,” he said.
Currently, work tables are being carried out aimed at moving the cabin and wagons from the manufacturing plant in Ciudad Sahagún, Hidalgo to Cancun.
“The train will arrive on July 8. It is 25 meters long plus the cabin, which is around 2.5, we are talking between 27.5, 28 meters,” he explained.
Meanwhile, the construction of the electrified road in section 4, which goes from Izamal, Yucatán to Cancun, is 120 kilometers complete. Being double, a total of 240 kilometers is quantified, May added.
