Puerto Aventuras, Q.R. — An out of control brush fire that may have been intentionally set was extinguished by Solidaridad firemen. On Sunday evening, area residents of Puerto Maya III became aware of the nighttime fire due to smoke and visible flames from their second story homes.
Solidaridad firemen were at the scene of the 8:30 p.m. brush fire where they spent more than an hour putting it out. Since there are no homes or businesses around the fire site, it is believed to have been intentionally set, but possibly became out of control due to strong winds.
Firemen were successful at stopping it from spreading further than it already had. There were no injuries or material damage reported, however, authorities are still unsure how it began.
