Chetumal, Q.R. — A Chetumal man shot five times has died in hospital. The shooting happened outside his home in the Primera Legislatura neighborhood Sunday. It was around 5:30 p.m. when neighbors reported the shooting to police.
Armed men reportedly arrived and began shooting at the unidentified male. He was outside his home during the targeted attack. Bullets hit him five times. He was transferred to hospital by ambulance where he died shortly after being admitted.
The FGE of Quintana Roo provided a brief statement on the Sunday afternoon shooting. “The FGE Quintana Roo reports that it has initiated an investigation for the crime of qualified homicide to the detriment of a male with a reserved identity derived from events that occurred in the Primera Legislatura neighborhood in the state capital.
“Investigative Police and experts from different specialties are carrying out the necessary steps to find the person or persons likely responsible for this unfortunate event.”
