Extortionist in custody for forcing landowner to sign over deed

Chiquilá, Q.R. — A man has been taken into police custody in Lázaro Cárdenas on accusations of extortion. Investigative Police arrested Guadalupe Ramón “N” for extorting a landowner of his property.

According to police, Guadalupe Ramón “N” was part of a group that physically assaulted a man, forcing him to sign over land.

“The now-detained man is accused of events that occurred on May 7, 2025, when the victim went to a property he owned located on Delfines Avenue in the town of Chiquilá, municipality of Lázaro Cárdenas.

“There, Guadalupe Ramón “N”, accompanied by other individuals, allegedly intercepted the man and threatened him with firearms,” police said in a statement.

“Later, the victim was allegedly taken to a room set up as an office where he was physically assaulted and threatened with death in order to force him to sign promissory notes and the transfer of rights to the property.

“The now-detained man, who allegedly presented himself as a lawyer, forced the victim to sign these documents.”

Guadalupe Ramón “N” was arrested this week on an outstanding warrant. He is currently being held in the penitentiary centre of Cancun.
