Puerto Aventuras, Q.R. — Elements of the Transit Police were tasked with an overturned semi along the Federal 307 in Puerto Aventuras. On Monday night, a man driving the semi landed it on its side.
According to early information, it was around 10:00 p.m. when the driver was descending into the town via a side road when he lost control of his unit. The semi, which was not carrying cargo at the time, was located by police laying on its side. The driver was nowhere to be found.
Speed is believed to have played a factor in the accident. It is not known if the driver was injured in the incident. It took several hours for police to upright the unit and clear the road.
