Puerto Aventuras, Q.R. — A driver who failed to notice a hotel water feature during a tourist pickup Monday ended up inside of it. A single vehicle accident was reported inside the hotel property when a van backed up too far and ended up in the water.

The incident happened Monday night inside the Hotel Catalonia Riviera Maya when the driver accidently backed into the hotel’s large water feature.
The decorative feature is located at the entrance of the hotel where vehicles park to pick up and drop off hotel guests. The incident happened around 11:30 p.m. when the driver of the van was reversing to park and pick up passengers.
