Riviera Maya, Q.R. — Dignitaries inaugurated a new $700 million USD Riviera Maya hotel. The Xcaret event was lead Governor Mara Lezama and the Secretary of Tourism of the Government of Mexico, Josefina Rodríguez Zamora.

On Saturday, the pair led the inaugural ceremony of the evolution of Hotel Xcaret México along with hosts Miguel Quintana Pali and Carlos Constandse Madrazo.

“This major step in Grupo Xcaret’s success story is the result of investor confidence promoted by President Claudia Sheinbaum, which provides investors with certainty and drives the strengthening of Quintana Roo’s hotel infrastructure,” said Governor Lezama during her speech.

Tourism Secretary Josefina Rodríguez Zamora emphasized that investments of this level and type, which benefit workers, are what President Claudia Sheinbaum’s Plan Mexico seeks to create, which are jobs for Mexicans.

Altagracia Gómez Sierra, the Coordinator of the Advisory Council on Regional Economic Development and Business Relocation, recognized Governor Mara Lezama’s work in promoting Quintana Roo.

“Mara is committed to improving interconnectivity both at the airport and sea with the world because she knows that everything Quintana Roo has to offer is something everyone deserves to see, and that those who see it decide to return again,” she said.

This new phase of Hotel Xcaret México, part of a long-term project, represents an investment of $700 million USD, adding 900 rooms to the tourism offerings of the Mexican Caribbean and generating 2,130 new direct jobs.
