Chetumal, Q.R. — Román Meyer says construction for the new Chetumal city park will begin toward the end of June. The head of the Secretary of Agrarian, Territorial and Urban Development (Sedatu) reported on the estimated start date for the new Quintana Roo Park.
The construction of the park was announced earlier this year by Governor Mara Lezama, however at the time, there was no estimated start date.
The park, which is expected to cost around 250 million, will consist of 21 hectares and be built on the former Expofer headquarters in Chetumal, Lezama reported at the time.
Pubic bidding for the project is expected to take place in June, however, Meyer says that regardless of bidding success, the park will not be finished in October in time for this year’s Chetumal Expofer.
The finished 21 hectare Quintana Roo Park project will include fairgrounds and a recreational park, with gardens, fountains, bike paths and family spaces.
