Cancun, Q.R. — The city of Cancun says they are acting as a mediator between the residents of the non-municipalized neighborhoods and the Federal Electricity Commission (CFE).
The city says talks are being held “to reduce disagreements and avoid again, a partial blockade on José López Portillo Avenue.”
Municipal government personnel addressed the CFE issues with those area residents, “endorsing an administration that is open and willing to dialogue between agencies and citizens,” the city reported.
On Friday, residents of irregular colonies of Valle Verde, El Milagro, Avante, Santa Cecilia and the Continental Zone of Isla Mujeres protested against the CFE, stating that they have not been provided with the installation of service meters in their homes and are being charged excessive fees.
