Chetumal, Q.R. — A Chetumal city cab driver ended up on his roof after being sideswiped in an intersection. The driver of a private car hit the cab at the intersection of Insurgentes and Benito Juárez Avenues Thursday morning.
According to witnesses, the driver of the private car ran a red light, slamming into the side of the city taxi. The high speed impact caused the light vehicle to roll over. The taxi driver was not seriously hurt.
The gold Pointer that hit the cab received a fair amount of damage to the front of his car. Chetumal Transit officers arrived to determine responsibilities and have both vehicles towed from the city intersection.
Traffic was only slowed since vehicles were able to drive around the scene.
