Chetumal, Q.R. — A Chetumal taxi was left laying on its side after being struck by another vehicle. The accident happened around 9:00 a.m. at an intersection on Laguna de Bacalar Street over the weekend.
The taxi was rolled over by a speeding vehicle whose driver did not stop. The cab rolled at least once before landing millimeters away from a parked car in private yard. The driver of the cab was not seriously injured.
Paramedics assessed and treated the taxi driver at the scene. Police located a Quintana Roo license plate at the scene that is believed to have falled off the second vehicle involved. Chetumal authorities continue their search for that vehicle.
