Chetumal, Q.R. — An elderly man died Sunday after being hit by Chetumal taxi. The accident was reported shortly after noon on Sunday at the intersection of Calzada del Centenario and Francisco Zarco Avenues.
Witnesses told police that the man was crossing the street at the intersection when he was struck by the car, whom they alleged, was speeding. The man was thrown into the vegetation where police located his body.
Paramedics arrived at the scene, but it was only to confirm that he had died. The driver of the Chetumal taxi was detained at the scene and later transferred by police to the Public Ministry to face charges.
