Chetumal, Q.R. — An elderly Chetumal man who had just finished collecting firewood was left with only minor injuries after being hit by a car. On Saturday, police were sent to Álvaro Obregón Extension on Calle 1 after 911 reports of the accident.
At the scene was a compact car with a broken windshield and a heavily damaged tricycle. Next to the tricycle was the elderly man. Preliminary reports say the man was traveling along with side of the road when he was hit by the Chevy.
The impact completely took out the passenger’s side of the windshield. Paramedics responding to the call arrived to find the 67-year-old man with only minor injuries. He suffered cuts to his face and arms from the broken windshield.
The driver of the Chevy was taken into police custody.
