Chetumal, Q.R. — An agent of the Municipal Police of Othón P. Blanco died Wednesday afternoon when he was hit by an Fiscalía General del Estado (FGE) truck while on his police-issued motorcycle.
The accident happened around 2:00 p.m. along Insurgentes Avenue in the state capital city of Chetumal when the on-duty officer was struck by an FGE vehicle while crossing through an intersection.
Traffic agents who arrived at the accident site arrested the driver of the FGE vehicle, who will be investigated.
Alberto Capella, Police Chief of Quintana Roo, confirmed the death of the officer on social media.
“With great sadness, I inform you that officer Miguel Ángel Alcocer Rosado, who was working as Police of the municipality of Othón P Blanco, died in a traffic accident. My condolences to your relatives.”
