Chetumal, Q.R. — A voracious fire consumed a commercial establishment in Chetumal late Saturday. The mom-and-pop hardware store was completely destroyed by flames.
Chetumal firemen arrived after emergency reports of the fire on Celul Street in the Solidaridad neighborhood. The large blaze consumed the Sidney hardware store owned by an area resident.
Firemen worked to extinguish the blaze, which had completely engulfed the building by the time they arrived. Paramedics arrived at the scene but were not needed. There were no injures reported from the fire.
The road was shut to traffic while emergency services remained on scene. Civil Protection are working with city firemen to determine a cause.
