Chetumal, Q.R. — A Chetumal man wanted on human trafficking charges has been arrested in Cancun. The State Attorney General’s Office says that Oni “G” was detained on an outstanding arrest warrant Wednesday in the city of Cancun.
Oni “G” was picked up “for his probable participation in the crime of trafficking in persons in its modality of prostitution against two adolescents.”
The first investigations by the Unit for the Trafficking and Exploitation of Girls, Boys and Adolescents indicate that the defendant, Oni “G”, created false profiles on social networks to contact his victims with misleading advertising and offered them work.
In their report, the FGE also said that “the subject asked his victims for the phone number of their friends to contact them and offer them work.”
After collecting data, an arrest warrant was issued against Oni “G”, who was captured in Cancun.
