Chetumal, Q.R. — A Chetumal man accused of attempting to murder his wife was arrested Monday. Manuel Nasario “N” was taken into custody by elements of the Secretariat of Citizen Security in response to a domestic violence report.
Police proceeded to arrest the man after accusations he verbally and physically assaulted his wife and child. The incident took place at a home located on Caracas Street of Chetumal.
In a statement, the Secretaría de Seguridad Ciudadana de Q.Roo reported “Manuel Nasario “N” was arrested, accused of the crime of attempted femicide. Elements of the Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC) responded to a report of a case of domestic violence in a home located on Caracas Street in the Americas III subdivision.
“Upon arriving at the scene, a woman made signs for help and informed them that moments before, her husband had attacked her with insults, that he had beaten her against the wall and tried to strangle her, in addition to also attacking one of her children.
“Likewise, the woman indicated that on previous occasions she has received physical and psychological aggression from the subject. For the above, she was provided with support of the GEAVIG unit for the corresponding follow-up. The man was placed at the disposal of the Attorney General’s Office of the State of Quintana Roo.”
