Chetumal judge sentences woman to 41 years for child pornography and rape

Chetumal, Q.R. — A woman who was arrested in June of 2021 for child pornography has been sentenced. On Thursday, a Chetumal judge sentenced Erika “S” to 41 years in prison after she was found guilty of child rape, pornography and corruption of minors.

In their press release, the FGE of Quintana Roo reported that her “sentence was obtained in an abbreviated procedure as a result of the evidence provided by specialized prosecutors in the intermediate stage for events that occurred in June 2021.”

According to their investigation, Erika “S” forced them to carry out activities of a sexual nature and recorded the victims using photographs and videos. She was arrested from her home in the town of Calderitas in the municipality of Othón P. Blanco.

She became the focus of an investigation after an anonymous complaint was made online to the FGE. They were granted a search warrant and in doing so, located a “technological device” where evidence was found.

Erika “S” has been sentenced to 41 years in prison and fined 96,412.00 peso. The judge also denied the commutation of her sentence.
