Chetumal, Q.R. — Chetumal firemen were sent to a private home to help after homeowners found a sleeping crocodile. The reptile was found in an enclosed section of their back yard Friday.
Although not large, the sleeping reptile was enough to pose a threat. Two firemen arrived at the home on Retorno Hacienda in Chetumal where they captured and muzzled the croc before taking it away. Firemen noted the reptile to be 1.5 meters long.
The crocodile is believed to have wandered onto their property during the night. It was removed from the home and released outside city limits.
