Chetumal business owner abducted in morning traffic

Chetumal, Q.R. — The owner of a Chetumal restaurant was abducted Wednesday morning from a public street in the city’s center. Witnesses reported seeing the man forced into a waiting vehicle around 10:00 a.m.

A missing persons report was issued for 37-year-old Tehul “R” by the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE). According to public reports, three armed men from inside a black truck grabbed the business owner.

He was forced from his vehicle after being intercepted in morning traffic on 7th Street in Chetumal. The three masked men were quick to pull him inside their vehicle before speeding off. A search for the vehicle described by witnesses lead to a false identification of a look-alike shortly afterward on Héroes Avenue.

The Chetumal man remains missing.
