CAPA crew arriving at Chetumal pump station find man dead

Chetumal, Q.R. — A crew arriving for a shift change at a CAPA pump station found their colleague dead. The man was found unresponsive Friday morning inside a Water and Sewerage Commission (CAPA) station in the Framboyanes neighborhood.

Fire department paramedics and emergency medical services personnel arrived at the station at the intersection of Huayacán and Flamboyán streets in response to a request for assistance.

Medical personnel confirmed he was deceased. The CAPA employee, who has not been named, is reported to have been elderly.

He was found around 10:00 a.m. in a small room where he stayed while taking care of the station.

The CAPA station was cordoned off by personnel of the Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC) while forensic personnel removed the body. An autopsy will confirm the cause of the man’s death.
