Riviera Maya, Q.R. — The pre-opening of the third phase of Tren Maya is scheduled for February 29. The third phase will begin operating section 5 north which include the Cancun, Puerto Morelos and Playa del Carmen stops.
President Andrés Manuel López Obrador along with the General Director of Tren Maya Óscar David Lozano Águila, reported the Cancun to Playa del Carmen route will have three departure schedules.
They will be 9:00 a.m. 12:00 noon and 3:00 p.m., while from Playa del Carmen to Cancun, the departure times will be 10:30 a.m. 1:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m.
During the morning announcement, they also reported that at the end of February, the train will have seven electric buses to offer connection service, which is currently provided free of charge between terminals 1, 2, 3 and 4 of the International Airport of Cancun to the Maya Train station and vice versa.
The route of the Cancun Airport-Puerto Morelos-Playa del Carmen Maya Train stations will allow visitors to reach tourist areas such as the Playa Coral viewpoint, the archaeological zone of Cobá, the Nichupté lagoon, as well as the island of Cozumel.
