Cancun public servants to have verifiable identification and customer review options

Cancun, Q.R. — Cancun Mayor Ana Paty Peralta says the Municipal Comptroller’s Office is working on modifications to update the badges of all public servants. She says the update is being done on these documents so that the collaborators can be identified.

“We are working to frontally combat any type of corruption. That is why all inspectors, absolutely all of them, will have their identification with a QR code so that citizens can validate various aspects,” she said.

Ana Paty Peralta reported that taxpayers will be able to verify if the workers are active inspectors of the City Council by scanning the QR code. At the same time, on the same platform, they will be able to fill out a satisfaction questionnaire so that citizens can rate whether their performance was adequate.

Municipal comptroller Yuri Salazar Ceballos explained that in a joint effort between the department he heads and the Municipal Institute for Administrative Development and Innovation, the catalog of positions and functions is being verified in order to migrate the correct information to the new badges that employees will have.

In this way, the badges worn by public servants will have new security measures to protect all the information of each individual. They will have a badge number generated by the system, a QR code with the expanded legal basis and the encrypted signatures of each head of the area in addition to the information of each position, shift, functions, inspector code and updated photograph.

He stressed that another important element of the new badges is that they will have a section for evaluating the performance of their work where comments and specific evaluations of their performance can be left.

Earlier this month, two men claiming to work for the CFE were arrested for attempting to extort citizens. It is one of several arrests made around the city in recent years by impersonators.
