Cancun, Q.R. — Cancun police responding to a report of armed men arrived at a construction site to find drugs and a gun but no people. Officers located the narcotics and loaded handgun at a construction site inside an ongoing residential development project.
Municipal Police officers, along with State Police and the Secretary of the Navy, responded to allegations of threats made against onsite workers to sell narcotics by armed individuals.
However, when they arrived, they only located a 9mm firearm and bag of narcotics with the help of a K9. While they seized the illegal items, no arrests were made.
Last week, a group accused of intimidating construction workers into the drug trade were detained in Cancun.
