Chetumal, Q.R. — A Cancun man shot to death in his car in Chetumal Tuesday has been identified as a lawyer. The fatal shooting took place Tuesday morning while the man was parked on Avenida Belice.
The now-deceased, Eliezer “G”, was with a female family member when his vehicle was intercepted and the driver shot.
Eliezer “G” is reported to have been a lawyer with a practice in Cancun. According to local media, his murder was due to alleged links to illegal immigrant trafficking related to the Sinaloa Cartel.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene. He was shot through the driver’s side window and died behind the wheel. Police were on site for nearly two hours. Six shell casings were collected from the scene.
