Cancun, Q,R. — An on-site construction worker has died as a result of a workplace accident. On Tuesday, firemen were requested at a construction site at Kilometer 25 of the Cancun Hotel Zone to aid in the removal of a body.
Coworkers made the 11:00 a.m. report after the unidentified man fell down an under-construction elevator shaft. Hotel Zone Tourist Police were the first on scene in response to the accident.
Cancun firemen were called in to retrieve the worker’s body from the bottom of the shaft. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Civil Protection are investigating the official cause of the fatal accident.
On Monday, a construction worker fell to his death from a 10-story under-construction building in central Cancun.
