Canceled Interjet flights into Cancun continue

Cancun, Q.R.– Passengers trying to fly with Interjet were forced again to put their plans on hold as the airline continues to cancel flights. It has been five consecutive days that Interjet has canceled its flights into Cancun International.

Airport managing company Aeropuertos del Sureste (Asur) reported that five round-trip flights had been planned for Wednesday, four of them to Mexico City and one to Monterrey, but at the last minute, they were canceled by the airline.

Since Saturday, Interjet has been canceling fights with more than 30 being canceled this week, affecting thousands of passengers. The company’s problems began in October when they started canceling flights. In a statement, the airline cited their suspensions due to financial problems.

Interjet staff in Cancun held a protest in November for unpaid wages.
