Mexico City, Mexico — The death of a Canadian woman is being investigated in Mexico City after a lifeless body was discovered in an apartment.
The owner of the property requested police assistance at 8:20 p.m. after finding the body. The property owner noted that they had not seen the tenant for several days and detected a foul odor coming from the apartment.
The Canadian, who has only been identified as a 42-year-old female, was found deceased in her apartment in the Roma Norte neighborhood of Mexico City October 13. Reports say she had only recently rented the apartment.
The Procuraduría General de Justicia Capitalina reported the body had been deceased in the apartment for several days before its discovery, adding that the Canadian Consulate has been notified and that an investigation into the crime of manslaughter has been initiated by agents.
