Puerto Aventuras, Q.R. — A pedestrian remains in hospital in serious condition after being hit by a bus. The man, a local construction worker, was left pinned between the tires of the bus when he was struck.
The accident happened Saturday afternoon around 4:00 p.m. in Puerto Aventuras near the area of Puerto Maya. Solidaridad paramedics rushed to the scene where they found the man under the bus.
According to witnesses, the man was already on the road waiting for a break in traffic to run across when the driver of the bus suddenly veered to pass a car. In doing so, the bus driver hit the pedestrian.
The man was transferred to hospital in serious condition. The bus involved in the accident was a Riviera Maya staff bus.
