Puerto Aventuras, Q.R. — The driver and passenger of a private car were transferred to hospital after overturning outside Puerto Aventuras. Police and paramedics were notified of the early morning accident Sunday along the federal highway.
Passing motorists reported the 4:45 a.m. accident to emergency services saying a car and semi were involved.
According to information gathered, the private vehicle was heading north when a front tire burst. The car crossed over into the opposite lane where it crashed into a parked semi.
The impact caused the car to overturn. Both people from inside the car were taken to Playa del Carmen hospital by ambulance.
National Guard Highway Division were called to the scene of the federal roadway accident to guard the area while the car was towed.
