Puerto Aventuras, Q.R. — The lifeless body of a male, who police say possibly died two days ago, was found submerged in a cenote in the delegation of Puerto Aventuras.
The discovery of the body was made Tuesday afternoon by a female passerby. She alerted authorities to the sighting of the submerged body seen in an area with about five meters of water. The centoe where the body was found is located near the end of the Puerto Maya roadway.
Authorities responded to the call. Divers were brought on site to extract the body from the water. The identification of the deceased man has not been released, nor have any details surrounding the possible cause of death or how the body ended up in the cenote.
