Puerto Aventuras, Q.R. — The body of a man found on a dirt road in the area of Xpu-Há has been identified as a taxi driver from Mahahual and a resident of the city of Chetumal. The man, identified as Óscar N, was discovered in black garbage bags Sunday afternoon.
Police arrived at the site around 2:00 p.m. to begin their investigation into the death and identity of the deceased. A piece of identification along with a large tattoo allowed for a positive identification. His body was located on a dirt road approximately two kilometers south of Puerto Aventuras.
The body was discovered by an area resident who notified authorities. Personnel from the Forensic Medical Service (Semefo) were called in to remove the body. Relatives have not yet made a claim.
