Cancun, Q.R. — Cancun authorities who searched a construction site Wednesday found two bodies. One person has been reported arrested. The latest two bodies found are believed related to the five bodies found earlier in the week inside an abandoned taxi.
The on-site search took place in the Alfredo V. Bonfil subdivision of Cancun Wednesday afternoon.
Authorities located two deceased at the site on Colegios Avenue. One body was found at the construction site while the second body was found in a nearby area.
Personnel from the State Attorney General’s Office secured the building. An investigation into the construction site began after the discovery of five bodies inside an abandoned Isla Mujeres taxi in the same area earlier in the week.
On Monday, authorities confirmed the discovery of five bodies inside an Isla Mujeres taxi. The taxi was found abandoned on Luis Donaldo Colosio Street in the same Alfredo V. Bonfil suburb of Cancun.
Since that discovery, police opened an investigation that lead them to the construction site where, according to preliminary information, two more bodies were found Wednesday. While the finding of the seven bodies are believed related, local authorities have not yet said how.
