Costa Maya, Q.R. — Urban Development has released a second list of companies fraudulently selling real estate. The second list names companies located in the Costa Maya area of southern Quintana Roo, most of which are located in Mahahual.
According to the Secretariat for Urban and Sustainable Territorial Development (Sedetus), the companies named are known to have sold real estate without permits or authorization.
The Secretaría de Desarrollo Territorial Urbano Sustentable (Sedetus) says they have been found operating without complying with current regulations regarding human settlements, territorial planning and urban development.

For that reason, potential real estate investors are being warned against buying, selling or renting from the companies which include Villa Sol Naciente, Huna’Bku Lote Patrimonial, Vila Ansata-Bienes Inmovilliarios Chetunal, El Tigre Mahahul, Proyecto Esmeralda, Axul-Ha, Inversiones del Caribe, Mahahual la Joya del Caribe and Brisas Mahahual.
Last week, the Secretariat for Urban and Sustainable Territorial Development released a list of real estate companies selling land in and around Bacalar. Those companies, they said, are involved in various aspects of real estate development without municipal permits.
