Arrests made in road rage murder of Cancun motorcycle driver

Cancun, Q.R. — The FGE says two people have been arrested in the shooting murder of a motorcycle driver. A serious case of road rage became the new line of investigation into the shooting death of a young Cancun man.

A man was shot in killed at the entrance to his home last week following an accident. On March 9, the Cancun driver was involved in a minor motorcycle accident with another motorcycle driver. Later that evening, the second driver arrived at his home where they argued.

The second driver pulled out a gun and shot the first man in the head. He died at the scene. Police say two people have been arrested in relation to that murder.

José Rafael “N” alias “El Gordo,” and Fernanda “N” known as “La Fer”, both originally from the state of Campeche, are in custody.

According to the Investigative Police, the events unfolded after a traffic accident involving the victim, 25-year-old Julio Alejandro “N”. Following the incident, the young man left for his home unaware that he was being followed.

José Rafael “N” and Fernanda “N” arrived at the home accompanied by at least three other men. They arrived to demand payment for the damages caused during the accident.

During an argument, Julio Alejandro “N” was shot in the head. Police say both José Rafael “N” and Fernanda “N” belong to a local gang.
