Police investigating serious case of road rage in shooting death of Cancun driver

Cancun, Q.R. — A serious case of road rage is the new line of investigation into the shooting death of a young Cancun man. Police have since learned the fatal shooting may have been due to an argument on a city street.

On Monday evening, a 25 year old motorcycle driver was shot dead at the entrance of his home. Neighbors in Villas Otoch Pariso reported the fatal shooting to authorities around 6:00 p.m.

Police found the man laying inside his property March 9, 2026.

Police arrived at the home on Margaritas Avenue in SM 259 in response to resident reports of gunfire. At the scene, they found the young man laying on his back at the gated entrance to his property.

He had been shot in the face.

Paramedics arrived to confirm the death of the man. He was killed by a single bullet wound to his left eye. The deceased has been identified as Julio Alejandro “E”.

The 25 year old was on his motorcycle with his girlfriend earlier that day when they were involved in a minor accident with another motorcycle driver. According to his girlfriend, the second driver left the scene in the middle of a heated argument.

The second driver reportadly came to the man’s house hours later, demanding payment for damages. Neighbors reported hearing the pair argruing before hearing a single gunshot.

Police are continuing their search for the person responsible, who, according to neighbors, fled on foot.
