Chetumal, Q.R. — Chetumal restaurant employees and patrons were shaken up after being robbed by armed men. The robbery happened Sunday evening while the restaurant was filled with customers.
Reports say three men entered the restaurant in search of cash. Two of the men are reported to have threatened customers while the third forced staff to empty the till. Once they were handed money from the cash register, all three fled to a waiting vehicle that was kept running by a fourth man.
National Guard were the first to respond to the 6:30 p.m. report of the robbery. Police were also on scene in the Adolfo López Mateos neighborhood where a search for those responsible was conducted but without successful results.
