Mahahual, Q.R. — A Mahahual man was killed Sunday night in a highway hit and run. Police were made aware of a body laying on a section of El Cafetal – Mahahual highway late Sunday.
Upon their arrival they found a deceased male and nearby, a badly twisted red bicycle. The bicycle was found in a grassy area of the highway shoulder. According to available information, the man appeared to have been run over more than once by highway traffic.
It is not known exactly when he was hit or by whom. The unnamed man is reported to have been around 55 years of age and a local ranch hand. His death was confirmed by UREM paramedics.
The SSC sectioned off part of the highway while they waited for the body to be removed.
