Riviera Maya, Q.R. — Another week of pure sunshine is in the Cancun, Riviera Maya forecast for the Easter holidays. The entire state will continue to see sunny days and cooled evenings with daytime temperatures hovering near 30C (86F).

The extended sun is due to an anticyclonic circulation, air movement surrounding a high-pressure system, that is continuing to bring fair weather to the region. According to Servicio Meteorológico Nacional (SMN), some areas of the Yucatan Peninsula will see partly cloudy skies throughout the day, however, the Quintana Roo coast will remain mostly sunny.
Mild weather will continue in the morning before days turn hot to very hot in the afternoon, the SMN reported Friday. Easterly winds at 20 to 30 kms/h (12 to 18 mph) with gusts of 40 to 60 kms/h (25 to 37 mph) will be felt throughout the day.

Maximum temperatures for the Yucatan Peninsula will continue between 35C (86F) to 40C (104F). The hot days with little to no rain are likely to stick around for another few weeks until the official start of the 2025 Atlantic hurricane season.

Forecasters report above normal activity for the upcoming hurricane season with at least 17 named storms.
In April, Colorado State University said “we anticipate that the 2025 Atlantic basin hurricane season will have above-normal activity. Current La Niña conditions are likely to transition to ENSO neutral conditions in the next couple of months, however, there remains considerable uncertainty as to what the phase of ENSO will be this summer and fall.”
