Cancun, Q.R. — Another 1,500 meter section of Luis Donaldo Colosio Boulevard has been finished and opened to traffic. On Friday, the City of Cancun announced the completion of another section that created an additional functioning lane for moving traffic.
The latest section was opened corresponding to the Cancun airport direction from Plaza Luxury to La Salle University. There are now two lanes open for circulation. At the end of August, the City of Cancun announced the first remodeled section of Luis Donaldo Colosio Boulevard to be opened to traffic.
One thing, they reported, that slows down the remodeling project are careless drivers. On Saturday, Policia de Cancun shared a photo of a driver who drove into freshly laid concrete. The tire marks created were so deep, the entire section had to be redone.
On a public post, they said “the recklessness of a driver caused his vehicle to end up stuck in an uncured section of the new concrete slab on Luis Donaldo Colosio Boulevard in front of the Anáhuac University of Cancún.
“The car was removed by its own means, but it will be necessary to redo the section again.”
