Riviera Maya, Q.R. — President Andrés Manuel López Obrador participated in another flyover of Maya Train sections that will cover the Izamal, Yucatan to Tulum route. On Thursday, the president flew over the region in a helicopter to monitor construction progress.

AMLO toured two sections. Section four from Izamal (Yucatan) to Cancun and sections five north, Cancun to Playa del Carmen and section five south that will run from Cancun to Tulum. After his aerial tour, he sat in a meeting with those locally involved in the train’s construction.

“In Cancun we evaluated the progress in section four of the Maya Train. In addition to the Secretaries of Defense and Communications and the governors of Yucatán and Quintana Roo, ICA executives responsible for the construction also participated, Rogelio Jiménez Pons and Daniel Chávez,” said the president.

The Maya Train will cross five states. Chiapas, Tabasco, Campeche, Yucatan and Quintana Roo, with which it seeks to connect the main archaeological destinations in the region.
