Cozumel, Q.R. — American Airlines has announced more flights into the region, specifically to Cozumel. The airline says beginning June, they will launch a new route from Austin, Texas (AUS) to the island of Cozumel (CZM).
The new route will complement American’s current service to Cozumel from its hubs in the United States, including Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW), Charlotte (CLT), Philadelphia (PHL), Chicago (ORD) and Miami (MIA).
The new AUS-CZM route will begin on June 11, at which time it will operate on Saturdays with an Embraer E175 aircraft with a capacity for 76 passengers.
“We are delighted to continue expanding our operations in the Mexican Caribbean with new services such as our upcoming new route between Austin and Cozumel,” said José María. Giraldo, Managing Director of Operations – Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean.
“Cozumel is a key destination for Americans in Mexico, and with this new route, we are proud to continue strengthening our position as the leading US airline in the country, celebrating this year eight decades of service,” he added.
