Alleged safehouse searched after 10 Cártel Jalisco Nueva Generación members arrested in Cancun

Cancun, Q.R. — After the arrest of 10 criminal gang members in Cancun, police searched a home believed used as a safehouse. The search took place in SM 46 of the city late Monday.

Personnel from the State Attorney General’s Office searched the house which was allegedly used to keep other kidnapped gang rival members before they were ordered killed.

The search came after two of the 10 detained were found to be leaders of the Quintana Roo Cártel Jalisco Nueva Generación (CJNG) cell. The group were arrested after police saw an armed man get out of a vehicle.

A search of that vehicle and those inside revealed the eight criminal gang members along with four loaded weapons, magazines, ammo and more than 150 bags of cocaine.
