Cancun, Q.R. — The Strategic Projects Agency (Agepro) says it has received two plots of donated land from Cancun Fonatur. The donated land is to be used for the Nichupté Bridge project.
Agencia de Proyectos Estratégicos (Agepro) says the National Fund for the Promotion of Tourism (Fonatur) in Cancun donated the land as part of the work coordinated with the federal government to consolidate the Lagunar Nichupté Bridge project.
Last year, Fonatur canceled their contribution of two billion peso for the construction of the Nichupté Bridge that, once built, would connect the Cancun Hotel Zone with the mainland to alleviate traffic congestion. Instead of being funded, the bridge is to be built with a private investment.
